Crawford Brown, former master brewer at Speight’s Brewery in Dunedin, has changed his tipple and now grows grapes at Cairnmuir in the Bannockburn region. He says he aims to “put the terroir of Bannockburn in a bottle” with two Pinot Noirs, the premium Bannock Brae Estate Pinot Noir Barrel Selection and Goldfields Pinot Noir. He also produces a little Riesling from his 8.5 hectares.
