Dry Gully is a family company that’s 100 percent committed to Pinot Noir. Bill and Sybilla Moffitt have a 1.5-hectare Pinot Noir vineyard amid old gold tailings at Earnscleugh, south of Alexandra. Their three sons are also growing grapes (Pinot Noir, of course) on several other sites in the Dunstan Basin.

Together the vineyards come to nearly five hectares – enough for 1000 cases of wine in a good vintage. Much of the wine (which is made at the Central Otago Wine Company) is exported, though purchases can be made at the ancient stone stable building that serves as a cellar door for Dry Gully.
