Canadoro has always had an excellent reputation for the Cabernet Sauvignon it produces from its 1.25-hectare vineyard, but it now has a few more strings to its bow. The acquisition of a four-hectare vineyard at the opposite end of New York St, in Martinborough township, saw in 2003 the addition of a Pinot Gris and a Sauvignon Blanc to the range, which also features a Chardonnay. Plans also include a Riesling.

Greg Robins, who still holds down a full-time job in Wellington, is planning to open a cellar door at the new vineyard in early 2004.

The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded four stars in Cuisine.
