This master suite was part of a full, coherent interior design scheme in a new home on a steep site overlooking Lake Wakatipu.
The suite’s master bedroom was oriented to make the most of the expansive views, while Ink/white ombre linen curtains soften the light in the space.
A feature wall behind the bed is wrapped in unfilled catspaw basalt, with a recess shelf highlighted by strip lighting.
Tucked in behind the bedroom, the master bathroom brings the outside in, with a textured palette, soft, subtle lighting, colour and attention to detail.
A strategically positioned window means lake views can also be enjoyed from the freestanding bath, while black shutters can be used to provide privacy if required.
The TIDA judges felt that the skilful combination of mitred Ripple tiles and larger format Ashima tiles flowed seamlessly through the space, adding to its relaxed and tranquil ambience.
