The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, but it is Maree’s dinner menu that is the real treat. This talented chef who has cooked at many of Blenheim’s restaurants over the past couple of decades has created a small menu of carefully thought-out dishes that zing with flavour. Starter of chicken liver pate arrives with pancetta and thyme flavour, verjuice jelly, cornichons and ciabatta. Panfried snapper is accompanied by skordalia, fennel and orange and citrus hollandaise. The food is comfort food with modern clever twists. Desserts are toothsome too.
