Beef Satay With Onion, Turmeric & Herb Salad

| BEEF SATAY | |
| 500g beef steak, such as sirloin, thinly sliced | |
| 2 tablespoons kecap manis | |
| ONION, TURMERIC & HERB SALAD | |
| 2 red onions, sliced | |
| 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric, grated | |
| 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar | |
| ½ teaspoon sugar | |
| ½ cup soft herbs, such as coriander, Thai basil, mint, chives, roughly chopped |

Instructions
| 1. | BEEF SATAY |
| 2. | Mix the beef and kecap manis in a bowl or plastic bag to coat well. |
| 3. | Marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to a day in the fridge. |
| 4. | Thread onto 12 well-soaked skewers. |
| 5. | Heat a barbecue or grill to very hot and cook for a minute each side or until cooked to your liking. |
| 6. | Serve with peanut sauce and the onion, turmeric and herb salad. |
| 7. | ONION, TURMERIC & HERB SALAD |
| 8. | Soak the onions in water for 10 minutes then drain well. |
| 9. | Toss with the turmeric, vinegar, sugar and a little salt. |
| 10. | Before serving, toss with the herbs. |
