SkyBar is the city’s newest cocktail bar, and the only one that is 50 floors up with all the views and wow that that implies. Devonport’s waterfront welcomes a new player with Dulcie, a daytime eatery in a gorgeous 1920s building looking out to sea. Popular Ponsonby restaurant Khu Khu has opened a new venue in Milford, bringing vegan Thai food packed with flavour to the North Shore. Durham Lane is the home of Go Ramen, the new go-to spot not only for ramen, but all your Japanese favourites. We say farewell to K Rd’s Peach Pit but taking the space in a new direction we welcome Tempero, a Pan-Latin bistro with tastes of Brazil, Mexico, Portugal and Peru from chef Fabio Bernardini. Bright and Barbie-pink, The Breakfast Club in Pt Chev rocks its diner style with pancake stacks, shakes and sodas from the duo behind Slow Lane. A bit of Melbourne cool with a dash of Auckland cosy comes to Sandringham where Everyday Coffee has your daily brew and bagels covered. Catering to the ever-growing suburb of Silverdale is Fã Artisan Bake offering a packed cabinet of pastries, sandwiches, salads and eightthirty coffee. In Freemans Bay, meet Café Perch in the space vacated by Red Rabbit on Hargreaves St, a pared-back office café providing a great place for those on the fly. We’re looking ahead a bit, but we can’t wait for Josh and Helen Emett’s next venture, Gilt Brasserie at Chancery Chambers on O’Connell St, due to open in October.
