Orphans Kitchen began Root-topetal in 2016 as a solo venture, to showcase vegan and vegetarian dishes.
This year it’s blossomed to include other restaurants too. From 17-28 April Orphans Kitchen and Christchurch restaurant Gatherings will embrace the world of plant-based eating and organic farming. For the second week of this fortnight, 24-28 April, they’ll be joined by Sherwood (Queenstown), Black Estate (Waipara), Hillside Kitchen (Wellington), Bistronomy (Hawke’s Bay) and Arbour Dining (Blenheim). And further news; in a first for New Zealand, Tom Hishon (Orphans Kitchen) and Alex Davies (Gatherings) are swapping restaurants for a week, hoping to wow a new cohort of fans. / eat.orphans@gmail.com /
