With its large windows and high stud, Charley Noble offers a light and airy space within this period building close to Wellington’s waterfront. This is a place for great city dining – the kind of restaurant you could eat at for a week and have a different food experience every night as you celebrate the best of New Zealand through the extensive menu. It may cover a number of bases, but don’t be daunted. Its woodfire-based cooking comes courtesy of a Josper grill and indulges our love for steaks and bistro classics. Best to start at the beginning with golden and crunchy sweetcorn, cheese and thyme arancini, then the dry-aged kingfish cooked on the grill was the star turn of the night. Underscored by fantastic service, Charley Noble is still one of the capital’s most classic dining experiences.
