PARIS BUTTER

With its French-inspired bistro-style menu, Paris Butter makes for some of the best dining in suburban Herne Bay. The menu offers a three-course à la carte option or a five-course ‘menu du chef’ dégustation. Both arrive with inspiring snacks, including chef and owner Nick Honeyman’s signature egg shell with foamy velouté. Starters of beef tartare and raw salmon roll make for elegant and light eating, while the mains of market fish and shellfish are perfectly cooked and the beef bavette tender and full flavoured. A chocolate dessert of light-as-air mousse paired with pears, a honeycomb tuile and speculoos was always going to be a winner to finish with. The wine and beer list is tight but well formed and the friendly staff are knowledgeable on both the food and wine menus. The newly named Liquid Paris bar area serving inspired cocktails will delight those wanting a pre-prandial drink.
