Inspired by the viral jalapeño and sauvignon blanc trend that swept TikTok, Sarah Jessica Parker and New Zealand’s Invivo Winery have introduced Spicy Jalapeño Sauvignon Blanc – the wine that sparked the phenomenon. This is wine made fun and reimagined for the way people drink now, where tropical flavours meet a playful pop of fresh green jalapeño spice on a crisp cool-climate sauvignon blanc base. $17 invivowines.com

Fat equals flavour, which explains the revival in popularity of fats such as beef tallow and duck fat. Holly Gold, dubbed ‘liquid bacon’, is a smoky, salty, cured bacon lard made from 100% New Zealand pork by Hawke’s Bay-based Holly Bacon. Delivering the flavour of bacon in a versatile, ready-to-use jar, just a spoonful delivers that unmistakable bacon hit – fried eggs will never be the same. 220g for $24. hollyfresh.co.nz

Muesli isn’t usually something to get excited about but with a tagline of ‘Muesli made brave’ this pear, ginger and almond muesli by Peggy Daring definitely got our attention. Including New Zealand oats and Hawke’s Bay honey it’s brightened up our breakfasts no end. $16 for 500g. bottlingshed.co.nz

We’ve long been fans of New Zealand tea from Zealong, so we’re excited by its new tea powder, a product that takes tea out of the pot and into the realms of lattes, smoothies and baking. There are three flavours: Jade, green tea powder that has a smooth nuttiness; Velvet, a roasted green tea powder which is earthy and sweet; and Noir, black tea powder with a rich, malty flavour. $60 for 100g. zealong.com

Adding sparkle to batch-brewed, sugar-free tea makes for a super refreshing soft drink and these cute little cans blend Pause for Tea organic loose-leaf tea with gently carbonated water. Our favourite is the floral green flavour of Sencha Green, while other flavours include spearmint & oolong, chamomile & lavender and hibiscus & ginger. $5.50 for a 250ml can. pausefortea.co.nz

We love that Tropical Kimchi from The Wild Fermentary is bursting with the bold flavour of sweet pineapple and nutrients from fresh turmeric root, garlic and ginger root. We love just as much that making this rescues more than 300kg of ripe pineapple every year, fruit that is too ripe to last on a supermarket shelf so would otherwise be thrown away. $14.99 for 380g. thewildfermentary.co.nz
