The Grove has a reputation for attracting the best to serve the best to those expecting the best. We are confident that this will continue under new head chef Kira Ghidoni, who is steeped in fine-dining style with spells at Fera at Claridge’s in London and Melbourne’s Vue de Monde under her toque, before joining The Grove in 2017 under former executive chef Ben Bayly. Kira will step up to the top job seamlessly, bringing her skills as an accomplished pastry chef. Although the timing of this change at the top makes them ineligible for this year’s awards, in the past owners Michael and Annette Dearth earned their 3-hat status as skilled hosts, recognizing that faultless service, extensive food and wine knowledge and the delivery of world-class food are essential elements of satisfying a demanding customer base. Long may it continue.
