By its own definition, Homeland is ‘the food embassy for Aotearoa and the Pacific’. May we present, then, Ambassador Peter Gordon, whose culinary postings have taken him around the world and back. Westhaven Drive is richer for his presence as head of food. Peter’s globe-trotting career has earned him a reputation as the absolute king of fusion. This manifests itself in an ever-changing menu that starts in the morning and ends at night. All the more opportunity to explore everything from sweet and savoury counter bites to something more substantial. Under his eye we see a focus on the intensity and quality of our regional and seasonal ingredients with clever creations that include hāngī pork belly with apple makrut lime purée, kohlrabi salad and crispies. Chef Petra Galler’s desserts are laudatory, too. An exciting celebration of community and those who grow and produce our food.
