Misty Cove Landmark Riesling 2025
top 10I THINK I’VE WRITTEN more about Misty Cove in Cuisine during 2025 than in all the years preceding combined and it gives me so much joy. The brand has been around since 2008 meaning it’s right on track for the ‘overnight success’ that takes a minimum of a decade and a hell of a lot of hard work. It was founded by ex-cricketer Andrew Bailey who has since stepped back from the day- to-day running of the brand trusting a great team to take his vision and help it thrive. Thrive it has and I do believe the brand has stayed true to its roots of wanting to make and sell wine in an unconventional way. Now the following isn’t a word I use often because I’m almost fifty and that means the ick risk is high – but the team at Misty Cove are cool. A mere glance at their ‘About Us’ page tells you these are a group of fun people, following their passion and having a great time doing it – the ultimate recipe for success. This riesling with its vibrant lemon and lime aromatics is polished and clean with a litheness that is borderline ethereal. The palate is focussed and bright with a delicate fruit profile that whispers rather than shouts, but the message is clear and utterly delicious.
