A staple of the Auckland waterfront dining scene, glamourous Harbourside occupies a privileged position on the first floor of the historic Auckland Ferry building. Overlooking the main ferry terminal with views out to the harbour, it is an ideal and entertaining setting in which to enjoy fresh seafood dishes prepared by Chef Shaun Tyagi (pictured). A multitude of spanking fresh fish and seafood satisfies a wide ranging clientele, from tourists to high-end diners, after-work groups, couples and families. Beautifully filleted kingfish is cooked to perfection and a joy to eat, simply served alongside crisply steamed French beans and a smart quenelle of rich, charred romesco. In addition, the wine list is deep, thoughtfully curated and first rate, and the service is very good indeed.
